Today we organized the first community action of the YouthBuild Cluj program. We helped the team of the Urbannect Association to prepare the furniture for the moving event of My Town – Home 2.0, in which the Association takes on the neighbourhoods of Cluj-Napoca and transform a public place into an Urban Living, in order to facilitate the inhabitants of Cluj to reconnect with public spaces.
Our role was to build furniture out of pallets before the first event (21st – 23rd August) in the Grigorescu neighborhood. Friday morning we got together in the Urbannect space on Traian street, to disassemble the pallets and build with them the furniture that will make up the Urban Living Room. We were amazed how ingenious it was to turn some simple pallets into tables and armchairs. The assembled furniture was moved in the afternoon in the Grigorescu neighborhood, where it became a space of relaxing, creativity and learning during the weekend.
The My Town – Home 2.0 event will continue in Mănăștur (4th – 6th September), Mărăști-Gheorgheni (25th – 27th September), Unirii Square. We’re inviting you to enjoy the events and the organized space and feel just like… home!
